Metropolis is a collaboration with the scientist Dreval Kostiantyn Grygorovych during an artist in residence programme in Donetsk (Ukraine). In a bowl, the fuguns K-1 Irpex lacteus is placed in the form of Malevich’s Black Square. The Fungus and other microorganisms will spread out and find their own structures and forms of organisation. Based on the dimension and scale of the micro-organisms the resulting pattern could be seen as a miniature urban environment.
